I got my blood pressure readings at the pharmacy, I got the following readings in succession 130/78, 125/82, 124/82, they are all done in 5 minutes.

The chart says below 120 is normal, and in someplaces it says below 130 is normal.

Should I see a doctor?

Yes, see a Dr if you are concerned. Not because I think you may have high blood pressure, but because you need to take your blood pressure correctly to get an accurate reading.

The American Heart Association recommends taking your blood pressure sitting with your back supported and feet flat on the floor. Then rest for at least 5 miuntes before taking the readings.

Also, don’t drink caffeine, or smoke for 30 minutes before. Go to the bathroom before taking a reading as a full bladder will increase your reading.

If you were to take your blood pressure using the AHA guidelines you would have a different reading than when you took it at the pharmacy. It would be more accurate for sure! The AHA also recommend home monitoring of blood pressure to track your blood pressure.

    you’re fine

BigPharma has lowered the ideal rate since 1978, bringing in 126 Billion in profits to the 4 makers of prescribed drugs that "significantly lower" the previously-normal pressure.

    You are "borderline high".

those machine in the pharmacies are not really to be trusted.

Yes, see a doctor. There could be something wrong with the machine at the pharmacy. I wouldn’t trust any of those machines. Too many people play around with them so they may not be correct.

Yes. Normal blood pressure is 110 to 120.70. Your readings indicate that you are pre-hypertensive. Try avoiding salt in all its forms (table salt, processed meats, cheese spreads, crunchy snacks). Eat foods that lower blood pressure (foods high in potassium).

They’re not too bad. Depends on what you were doing at the time. Because you just walked into a chemist, they’re going to be a little higher than usual. But after you rest a while, the pressure should drop.

Another consideration is your age. Older people usually have higher BP.

I wouldn’t go to the doc just for that, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask about it next time you’re there.

If it concerns you, you should look at ways of avoiding high BP in the future. Eat well, exercise, that sort of thing.

as crazy as this may sound, 124/82 is just as normal as 120/80..

you’re never going to see the "exact spot/number" that you heard the first or last beat when taking a BP..

    120/80= 116/76, 118/78, 122/82, 124/84, etc..

anything over 130 is "technically" considered abnormal, but a doctor isn’t going to worry about it too much.. unless you have other symptoms, such as a high heart rate, irregular heart beat, and shortness of breath along with high BP.. there’s no need to panic about it..

nope, your fine anywhere from 120/70-135/90 is okay. You mainly want to stay in the120’s. If you have low/high blood pressure you can normally tell by symptoms such as seeing "stars" in front of your eyes (floaters sometimes), dizziness, drowsiness, ect.

Your fine!!! The bottom number is the more important number. But if you feel that there is something wrong then listen to your gut and go see a doctor.
