They are just watching to make sure your baby continues to be healthy. High blood pressure can have a bad affect on the babys health. If monitored closely and frequently then your baby should be fine. You should be glad that your doctors are trying to keep on top of it so good. By the way how far along are you?

I don’t think they’re giving you the "run around". They are trying to keep you and your baby safe. I know it’s a pain having to go to all these doctors and go through all the tests, but for the sake of having a healthy delivery and a healthy baby, it is well worth it!! Just hang in there!!

I developed preeclampsia with all of my pregnancies…be cautious and seek another opinion if needed. How far long are you? I delivered a stillborn in 2004 because of it, thank God my other babies survived.

I don’t see how you are getting the run around. It sounds like they are doing what is necessary to keep you and your baby healthy during this pregnancy. And hopefully not have to run the risk of you developing any serious complications or be required to take any medication that could harm the baby.

your additional risk factors need not be causing you too much worry. be thankful that these issues (potential issues let’s say) have been identified and can be managed by your OB and staff.

regarding preeclampsia in particular, adequate folate status will lower your risk of preeclampsia by 63%. eat lots of leafy greens now and throughout the pregnancy. also, take extra folate now.

if you are positive for a genetic polymorphism such as the MTHFR – 677CT, then plan to take L-methylolate rtaher than folic acid. That polymorphism will reduce your ability to process traditional folic acid (synthetic, you need natural folate). hope this helps…
